Description
Has this happened to you? You want to reduce the overall number of bones in a model but weight painting is scary? Is the constant clicking required for setting up weight mix modifiers just not doing it for you?
This is a script that will merge (add) your goddamn weights and even clean up the old bones as well.
V2 is fixing some problems with autoapply/autodelete
The settings are at the top of the file.
Usage:
- Open script in blender text editor
- Engage weight paint mode
- Select all bones you want merged, with the mix target bone selected last
- click [Run Script]
- (optional) all vertex weight mix modifiers get applied automatically
- (optional) the merged bones (except target bone) are deleted from the armature
Tested with 2.79 only

Open3DLab is a free service. However, it costs about $0.03 to deliver you a 1GB file. With over 20TB of traffic every month and growing, Open3DLab needs your help. If only 1% of our users each gave us $5 for a single month, we could keep the site running for several years.
